depression
Depression describes an experience that includes the following feelings, thoughts and physical symptoms:
- Feeling sadness or down in the dumps
- Being tearful
- Feeling discouraged
- Having low self esteem
- Experiencing disinterest in friends, family, and/or colleagues
- Having suicidal thoughts or intentions
- Experiencing a decrease in motivation
- Experiencing disinterest in sex
- Feeling irritable
- Feeling guilt or shame
- Feeling unhappy
- Being self critical or judgmental
- Feeling worthless
- Experiencing fatigue
- Having difficulty sleeping or sleeping more than usual
- Experiencing changes in appetite
- Experiencing significant weight gain or loss
The more symptoms you experience, the more likely you’re experiencing depression.
